Why many women no loger feel the need to get married?

This essay is about the recent trend that many women don't take the marriage as a mandatory thing because women can make their own living. Topic states such a trend stems from women's growing power in financial side while I see the value of marriage in non-financial side. 

Below essay is just my personal opinion not related to any other purposes. 

Topic) 

In many countries, women no longer feel the need to get married. Some people believe that this is because women are able to earn their own income and, therefore, do not require the financial security that marriage can bring. To what extent do you agree?

​ Nowadays, as more and more women participate in social activities, women's roles in marriage have also changed.

In the past, it was well-accepted that women should get married before 30s and it was required for them to play a role as a​ good mother and wife while men should make money to keep their family members sustaining comfortable lives. In this way, there was a stereotype for man and woman’s role under the institution of marriage. However, as the number of well-educated women has increased, women’s way of thinking has also changed accordingly. 

 They have started to make their own voices about social inequalities between men and women. Majority of successful female leaders and young women believe if women can make enough money to lead their independent lives, it would be better not to get married because marriage can bring many handicaps to women. Once they are pregnant, they should give up their careers and sacrifice their private lives and activities for their families. This is a typical situation which many married women went through, so it is undeniable that marriage can be unfavorable to some women who pursue fast career success.

 If we put the value of marriage on “financial security” that men can bring, then I cannot deny that many women will not get married in these days because women are able to earn their own living*.

 However, I don’t think the virtue of marriage life is limited on “financial security”. People choose to get married for the sense of belonging, and they want to share many things with their lovers for the rest of their lives.

​ If we think about the merits of the marriage from non-financial sides, many people still want to get married and the virtue of marriange wouldn't change.
